Doc “DEE JAY DOC” Harrill | Founder, Visionary, + Executive Director
Doc started Refresh Collective in 2011 as a free neighborhood hip-hop summer camp that has grown into a multimodal arts-based youth development organization, serving students and adults in Cleveland and Cincinnati. He has been an emcee, turntablist, producer, recording engineer, and performer for over 30 years. During the founding years of Refresh Collective, he personally helped over 10,000 youth write, record and perform their own songs.

Lee Harrill | Chief Operations Officer + Cincinnati City Director
Lee joined Refresh Collective in 2015 as a teaching artist and now oversees all Cincinnati programming and operations for all of Refresh. He has eighteen years of experience leading teams of creatives, mentoring new and experienced leaders, and building systems and infrastructure on creative teams. He is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, emcee and a singer/songwriter; his favorite thing to do is build bridges of trust between people and organizations.

Cheryl Tournoux | Operations Coordinator
Cheryl began her career in New York City teaching middle school. While teaching, she earned her Masters in education from The City College of New York. She uses her years of experience in education to guide our programming to ensure the best experience for students.

Aryawna Friesen | Print Shop Production Manager
Aryawna graduated from Wichita State University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in fine arts. She uses her specialty in screen printing to connect and build relationships with the women in our programming.

Britton Roberts | Teaching Artist
Britton Roberts is a professional musician, songwriter, and producer. His music has been licensed for tv and film, and he has performed on hundreds of recordings across musical styles. While he is an artist in his own right, he most enjoys collaborating with and developing other artists to help them achieve their unique sound and vision.

Eric “EROC” Porter | Teaching Artist
Eric, known as “Eroc Beatz,” is a poetic song writer, music producer and striving audio engineer who enjoys all the elements of hip-hop and what it stands for. His favorite part about this work is seeing students who may be reluctant to start music find how talented they are through learning and encouragement.
Dream Performance Venue: I've always wanted to perform at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame so it's an accomplishment to have done it with Refresh Collective students this year!
Jeremy Bryan aka “Quill the Messenger” | Director of Hip Hop Pedagogy
Jeremy holds a Masters in Liberal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His area of expertise is unleashing his own and other’s inner “MC '' by helping others master their craft, move crowds, and make change. Jeremy’s favorite part about teaching is the possibility of deep insight and discovery of both the subject being studied and the self doing the studying.
Favorite Concert I’ve Performed: I got to rock the mic onstage with Common at the Orpheum in Madison, Wisconsin.
Jonah Price | Teaching Artist
Jonah earned a Master’s Certificate in Music Production and Analysis from Berklee College of Music in 2015. Since then, he has launched a successful career in music and streaming. He has worked with many popular artists, including Bas, KSI, and Futuristic. Jonah’s favorite part of teaching is giving students a space to express themselves musically and creatively.

Letitia is a natural in customer care and community connection and is an integral part of creating and contributing to our recovery friendly work environment. Letitia is also working towards her bachelor’s degree in social work from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

Mathilde is known around the print shop as “The Screen Master.” She is a skilled screen printer who loves to mix inks and contribute to the recovery-friendly culture we cultivate.

Morgan is a talented lyricist and performer. When she teaches, she looks forward to seeing the improvement in her students and herself.

A graphic designer by trade, Nina strives to turn the art of screen printing into a vehicle of healing for every person who enters into the print shop. Her heart is to walk with our interns and allow them to flourish.

Olympio is a Refresh alumnus who became a teaching artist when he graduated. He enjoys guiding students through the writing process by using his strengths in melody making.

Regis began his musical career at the age of fifteen and has been making music as his full time job for thirteen years. He uses his professional-level skills in beatmaking and lyric writing to follow his passion of building relationships with students. His desire is to mentor aspiring artists and give them the same opportunities he was given.

Shawntez Robertson | Production Assistant
Tez is a detail-oriented graphic designer, and his favorite part of screen printing is working in the dark room coating and burning screens. He is passionate about fine arts; In college, he and some of his peers directed and curated some shows in art galleries downtown.

Zach’s strengths are lyric writing, music journalism, and video editing. His music has been featured on Thisis50.com and I’m From Cleveland, and he worked with Grammy Award-Winning engineer Mike Chav on his last EP. Among all of these accomplishments, he most enjoys getting to mentor young creatives and artists.
Music Fun Fact: One of my mentors was Fresh Kid Ice (RIP) from 2 Live Crew.
